Home remodeling, renovation, and repair tips with Tom Tynan
When you get home from work, there's nothing quite like feeling fresh, soft carpet between your toes. Yet that feeling can be easily ruined with carpet stiff and rough from so many stains. How can you make it fresh and new again?
Vacuuming is a great place to start. That'll get up all the hard dirt and dust. But deep, set-in stains aren't going anywhere when Mr. Hoover pays a visit. What if you go deeper?
A deep clean is just what your floor needs for a good refresh. Daniel McPherson from Clean As A Whistle shows you how to go beyond vacuuming for fresh carpet just like new.
You take your shoes off for that fresh feeling of carpet between your toes. When you step onto the floor, all you feel is something worn, hard, and sometimes sticky. How can you get your carpet fresh and good as new?
Carpet acts as one big filter, so there's a lot of things on the carpet. Things like that, you're going to need a little bit more aggressive where vacuuming is not going to get that out.
Recommended cleaning should be every one to two years. Well, the first step that we want to do is the pre-inspection. The technician walking with the homeowner throughout the house. Any kind of areas of concern or particular stains or anything that needs to be pointed out, the more educated we are with what that is there, then the better chances we are of resolving that issue.
The second is pre-conditioning. Put a pre-conditioner on the carpet and that's going to break down any kind of soil or anything like that. It helps emulsify that. And then we go ahead and clean.
Third is extractioning and finishing. So we use a truck mount hot water extraction. Any kind of pre-spotting that needs to be done. Any of those areas that were pointed out in the initial pre-inspection. The hot water extraction wand, the tool that actually does the cleaning. It's just the latest and greatest technology, top of the line stuff that we use that's out of our clients home.
The last step is the post-inspection. So, basically we do a final walk through. Those spots that were pointed out are areas of concern that were pointed out in the initial pre-inspection. We go over them again and look at our results. After we do an inspection, you're left with amazing, beautiful looking carpet, and something that you're really proud of. You definitely get that breath of fresh air.
Freshen up your floors with a thorough cleaning for carpet that's just like new. For HomeShowRadio.com, I'm Tom Tynan.
