Well, today we're going to show you a thin brick that we sell at Western Brick.
What types of brick can be made into thin brick?
Tom, any type of antique brick, new manufactured brick, all types of brick can be made into a thin brick.
How is thin brick installed?
We have a backer board that needs to be put up for support for your sheetrock. And we follow that by a thin set mortar. And after that the brick is set in place. Once the brick is set, mortar is applied into joints.
Can thin brick be installed outside?
Absolutely. It's great for outdoor use. Barbecue pits, hot tubs, remodels. The benefits there is you don't need a brick ledge. It'll weather just like full size brick.
Is this a do-it-yourself project?
Yes. For people who have worked around the house and do projects around the house, absolutely. This project here would take about two to two and a half days.
